    • Sam was a lover. I remember an argument between he and Helen (these arguments were always conducted with the largest possible audience of young children) wherein Helen complained about Sam's constant sexual demands. Sam said he didn't understand her problem since it only took three minutes. She allowed as how that was so and stopped complaining about it. Their young high school-aged daughter, Carolyn (a.k.a. "Binky" who later became a 300-pounder) said, "It may only be on three minutes but it sure is noisy and always wakes me up. All this at a time when I still couldn't bring myself to believe that my parents every had had sex.
