    Ethel C Mayfield wife of Sherwood Noble I am assuming her maiden is Mayfield because her mother is referred to as Mrs. Nellie Mayfield According to a Inspection Memorandum from Immigration services. Ethel applied for Immigration and permanent residency in the US on 27Sep1923. In this document she indicates she is a Canadian citizen. She was born in Kentucky and lived there from 1890 -1895. Her mothers name is referred to as Mrs. Nellie Mayfield living in Kingsville, Ont. (as her father was born in Kentucky, I assumed they moved to Canada where her mother was born and became Canadian citizens) She also indicates that Sherwood is currently living at 900 E. Lincoln, Royal Oak She list herself as 33 years old, 5’6”, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, and in good health. The actual border crossing took place in Oct 1923 according to a manifest for that time. Listed on the manifest is Ethel age 33, Helen age 6, Sam (most likely Sarah, manifest was filled out by a clerk, not Ethel), Glenn age 5, Claire age 3, and Corrine age 1 month. Mrs. Nellie Mayfield had 2 other Daughters born in the US and moved back to Canada from Kentucky in 1895 or 1896. Both dates are referenced in the 1901 and 1911 Canadian census. According to the 1901 Canadian census she was a widow.
