    • See Order Book #13, page 318, Russell Co., Virgina. "David Jessee was a Baptist Minister and a farmer, B. N.C., 1783; died, Russell Co., VA., April 8, 1856. William Jessee took the oath of administration and acknowledged his bond of $1500 with Jessee Fuller and Vincent Jessee... a certificate of administration was granted on the estae of David Jessee decreased in due form." David Jessee and Catherine "Katie" Banner had 13 cildren. See page 173 of "Early Settlers Lee County and Adjacent Counties, Virginia, Vol. 1, by Laningham: "Lived at Castlewood, VA, all his life". Also, See the 1850 census of Russell Co., VA for documentation of ages of his children. Note: In addition to being a minister himself, (6) Six of the eight sons of David Jessee were ministers; either Baptist or Methodist. From the LANINGHAM book: pages 173-174 - "David Jessee, Baptist Minister and Farmer, b. N.C., 1783; d. Russell Co. (Order B. 13, P. 318, Russell Co., VA) David Jesee deceased April 8, 1856. David Jessee married Catherine (Katie) Banner, b. Grayson Co., VA, 1788; she died after 1856 when on June 3, she Catherine Jessee, widow made purchases at the sale of the personal property of David Jessee Dec'd. (Will Book 7, page 47, Russell Co., Va.). Elder David Jessee lived at Castlewood, Virginia all his life. The children of David and Catherine (Banner) Jessee were (12). There were seven ministers counting himself in this family, some were Methodists, others Baptists."
