    • Frances "Frankey" Lea Jessee is not listed in the estate settlement of her husband, John Jessee, Senior (see the settlement in notes about John Jessee, Senior) signed on March 28, 1828 after his death on Nov. 17, 1815. (Russell Co.,VA, D.B. 1, p. 304). Therefore, I assume that she was deceased by March, 1828. The book by Anne Wynn Laningham, "Early Settlers of Lee County, Virginia and Adjacent Counties, Volume 1" (Frankfort, Ky. Historical Library 975.502) page 172, states that she died in Russell Co., VA., after 1812. The first name of one of her sons was her maiden name: Lea Jessee.
